Dear Amit sir, One of my client is using alternate units. His Base unit is box and alternate unit is sheet. earlier the conversion rate is 12 Sheet = 1 Box but now the conversion rate is 14 sheet = 1 Box. How to deal with it. I am Proposing another Field Before STKI AltConv field and asking them to put 14 in that filed and i need to make changes in Stock Summery report to add this new alternate conversion is it a right way or any other solution exists please assist me in solving the issue
make new compound Unit ..... 1 Box+ = 14 Sheets BTW.... what you are proposing is..... travel from Mumbai to Delhi via Europe.
But he is already using alternate units and the measurement units once selected cannot be changed now that is the reason for my question. is there any facility to change existing simple units into compound units without disturbing past data in tally if yes then please explain the procedure sir
No...not possible now..... your Client should have used Compound Unit....with foresight and planning. Now all Items will have to be suffixed with + or 2 or whatever.......... As for making a TDL..... there will lots of efforts.....Stock Query, Summary, Reports as well as Voucher level.............. A harder way is possible............Since this is June only....so only 2.5 months.....Split the data........delete all entries with the concerned stock item and re-enter them with new settings. As long as Purchase/Sale/DN/CN is existing with this stock item, you would not be able to change from 12 to 14.
i added another alternate unit and reports are updated i ca view either in old alternate units or new alternate units please have a loo at the code sir at some places in have hard coded values for conversion there i cannot use formula sir please go through annd comment please
Dear Sir, I need to tdl file alternate quantity for stock means we are sealing the fabric in kg and for polo sealing collar cuff it's that possible in one stock i can used unit kg and pcs also but not show alternative units in kg.
sir the alternate unit is changing many times in a financial year and with many items. so its not possible to keep many unused items
