    Limitations in Linux Tally.

Tally in Linux does not support the following features:

    • Tally ODBC (Feature remains disabled always).
    • Web Browser (Even if feature is enabled Web Browser button remains disabled.)
    • Register Tally. (Related to Web Browser)
    • Tally Lock support. (Always runs in license mode)
    • Dot matrix printing (Supported for specific printers).
    • Dial-up support.
    • Linux- Windows, or Windows – Linux combinations for Multi user, is not supported.
    • Online Help is not supported.(Help button remains disabled)
    • User-defined paper selection is not supported for printing.
    • In Paper settings window some settings like margins are not supported.
    • Only GNOME Desktop is supported.
    • Tally Linux can run only on RHEL WorkStation.
    • Tally Linux does not support any resolution with 256 colors or less.
    Changes from Windows Tally.

    • All System names starts with * instead of the traditional BOX character.
    • Print preview window is different from Windows Tally.
    • All Buttons and Keys with ALT+Function Key combination or Ctrl+Alt+Function Key combinations has been changed SHIFT+Function Key or Ctrl+Shift+Function Key respectively.
    • When showing List of printers Tally always shows port as LPR. (Technically all printing data is sent through LPR only. But cannot be compared with windows version where it shows LPT or TCP/IP port.
