why Tally Data is gayab without user intervension

    Dear Experts.,

    Today my customer called and informed me that, his tally data is missing (no vouchers entered), without doing anything. Yesterday, he posted entries, but today morning, when he saw that, no data is available. I have instructed that, take backup everybody to avoid like this situation.

    This is happened to some of my customers, it may various like data is missing one day / one month or some time, full year.....

    What is the solution for this kind of issue / problem, how to protect / restore the data.

    This can be happen when an improper shutdown of Tally has been happen due to power failure or improper shutdown of Computer. But when the user again open the Tally, it will be asked to rewrite the data, if the user has press enter here, the data may be lost. In this case please be sure not to press unwanted enter while opening the Tally.

    If any improper shutdown has been happened, Please take backup of the Data Folder before opening the Tally.

    If the problem is with original version, will Tally recover the data. This can be in any version. If due to any error master is corrupt, data cannot be recovered.

    Yes... i'm facing with original Tally.ERP 9, and i'm taking proper steps for opening company and closing company data.

    this happens not only with me, with my customers also... evening, they will close the data properly.. but next day morning data is gayab.....

    Now, i have taken open step ahead, is enable the auto-backup feature.. this may help to extend....

    I think Tally People also know this bug...

    I understand your situation. But dont think its a bug in Tally. For these kind of issues, we used to get calls for Support mostly from the Pirated Tally Users. Thats what I asked about. Tally got very strong database. Apart from "Auto Backup" in Company Create/Alter Screen, you are having additional option to take "Auto Backup Copy" to some other folder from F12 - Data Config. Screen.

    Kindly check the Customer's Computer from 1. Virus Free 2. Removal of unwanted Programs 3. Periodical Temp/Internet Temp files removal (CC Cleaner) 4. Proper Windows On/ Shut down. 5. Smooth Run of OS (I have seen many windows os with multiple error popup during working).

  7. change the location of Date folder, May be problem in the hard disk also...

    I also face the Problem in many customers original Tally, give the Same Error.I have been restore the Auto backup data.in case tally give the error to rewrite then Data gone.I want the permanent Solution for this problem
