I had also a customization almost similar to your one. which has been working since last 3 years. Now i had face a challenge that its dose not working at remote user level. I know I have to use attribute fetch object to make working at remote level. Can you help me for these issue.

Blue color is not looking good.
Changed the color to black but it still shows in blue when taking pdf print. On laser blue prints way too light.
