Tally Data Recovery , Zero Rewrite Procedure

    1.
    Take a backup of the Tally data.
    Do a manual backup of the Company giving the error.
    2.
    Disable autoloading of Companies
    Set Gateway > Configure > Data Configuration > Load Companies on start-up = No
    This can also be changed by editing the ini configuration file.
    3.
    Open Tally in debug mode from the Command Prompt

    Start > Run.
    For example - (C:\Tally.ERP9\tally.exe C:\Tally.ERP9\Data\ 2517)

    In the above example 2517 is the duplicate id no

    Rewrite the problematic Tally.ERP9 company
    Rewrite by Ctrl+Alt+R from the Company Info screen and selecting the problematic Company.
    Select “Yes” to rewrite the data.
    5.
    Remove other duplicates
    Repeat 3 to 4 above if necessary until all Duplicates have been removed. Inserting the new error ids.
    Conclusion
    The Tally.ERP9 should function normally when all duplicates have been removed.

    Zero Rewrite Procedure
    The procedure to rewrite data forcefully is as follows:
    Go to Start
    Select Run
    Type Tally exe followed by the <file path> <Data path> 0 (E.g.: C:\Tally.ERP 9\Tally.exe Data 0)
    Press Enter

    The Company Info Menu appears
    Press Ctrl + Alt + R.
    The List of Companies appear under the title Rewrite Company

    5. Select the required company whose data needs to be rewritten.
    6. Tally.ERP 9 prompt you with the following message Re-write? Yes or No
    7. Press Y to rewrite the data
    8. On completion check the data.
